Spiraling Downwards

Rom 11:17 NIV - If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,
Rom 11:18 NIV - do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.

All to often we find ourselves spiraling down the wrong path. It seems so hard to pick yourself back up and grow spiritually in our Father. However, not to long ago I listened to a sermon which showed the importance of relying on God for our strength. "[C]onsider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you." If you are having a hard time getting back on the path to heaven, there is a good possibility that you are relying on yourself to get you there. Instead of relying on ourselves, we should focus on growing at the connection where we were grafted in to God's family. By enlarging are connection with God, we in turn grow in leaps and bounds just like an olive branch.
