Formless and Empty

Gen 1:2 NIV - Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

In light of the last verse that I used as inspiration for the picture I took, I decided to start a series of photographs inspired by the creation of the world in Genesis. Believe it or not, at the very beginning of time, the earth was "formless and empty" with "darkness... over the surface of the deep." Thinking about this part of the verse, I also considered its connection with the next part of the verse which says that "the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." On this note, I filled the sink up and stirred the water while I snapped a few pictures. While I doubt that this is what it looked like when the earth was formless and empty, it does give you a starting point in your imagination.
