Gen 1:3-5 NIV - And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.
When I read these verses, I knew that I needed some light and darkness that I could take a picture of. Notice that it says that God "separated the light from the darkness." At first it didn't seem possible to get both light and darkness in the same picture; however, after attempting to take a picture of the light bulb in my room, I found that the camera automatically adjusted so that the background became almost black. While God certainly did not create the light bulb in this picture, he made everything that went into this bulb and the light that emits from it. And he made doubly sure that we would know the difference between light and darkness by separating it. Isn't that so cool!
