Psa 34:8 NIV - Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Another part of God that amazes me is that he does not just leave us with a leap of faith. It is so true that the first step is by faith, but he also provides us with the opportunity to "taste and see" that He is good. The person who takes that leap of faith finds great reward as the verse tells us. However, please do not get the wrong impression from this verse. There will be countless times during our walk with God when we will doubt that the Lord is good. However, in the end we will be blessed by our Father(assuming we do not give up) when we die and go to live with Him forever.
you're right... God doesn't just give us an intangible/abstract philosophy, but something that is real, that we can "taste and see."
ReplyDeletei like to differentiate between faith and "blind faith." I.E., while Christians do take a leap of faith, as you say, it is not a blind leap, because it is based on excellent evidence and many witnesses.
