The Sun, The Moon, The Stars

Gen 1:14-19 NIV - And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the fourth day.

It would be pretty boring if we could not tell the difference between darkness and light. I can just see continuous drab days that just want to make you lay down and do nothing. God thought the same thing and separated the light and darkness giving us a "lesser light to govern the night" and a "greater light to govern the day." It is really awesome to behold these two creations of God. It is especially so when you get a chance to observe the sun rise and the sun set; or to lay out in the country and attempt to count the stars as the moon shines serenely on your face. I cannot imagine how much fun God had making these two amazing lights.

  2. Thank you, I thought the idea pretty good, but was a little worried about the red glare.
